For this project, my group and I worked to create a barber shop located in Doha, Qatar. We collaborated with the graphic design students as well, order to develop a final concept. The main concept of our final barber shop, called “MAVI,” is to be a new and improved upcoming barbershop, located in Qatar, exclusive for men, in which visitors are able to experience a unique take on the usual “haircut”. The contemporary theme with the twist of Ottoman design was our approach to create the feel of the space. The main lesson from this project is that in order to develop a coherent, advanced final design, interior designers must work with many different other types of designers, including graphic, as well as many others, in a collaborative and efficient manner. Additionally, clear communication is very prominent in
order to be able to accomplish such a design. Presented are some renders and rendered orthographic drawings of the designed areas, all of which I contributed in.
